Ministry history
Mary's Comfort was founded in October 2006 from a profound call upon Evangelist Sean Stevens.

This ministry comes not only from the heart of Jesus but from all of the life experiences of Mr. Stevens. As a young toddler, Mr. Stevens became a quadriplegic from an accidental fall in his home. He was only 15 months old. Through the strength of his mother and father, their faith in the Lord and the persistence of medical professionals he was able to recover enough to actually walk again. Then at age 5 his parents divorced. Throughout his life, Mr. Stevens has overcome many obstacles; fatherlessness, physical disability, discrimination, poverty, sickness, loneliness, despair, depression and severe child abuse. Mr. Stevens has been transformed through the blood of Jesus into a loving, kind, honest, compassionate, wise and driven man that daily seeks to fulfill the calling upon his life to empower, encourage and inspire others through Jesus Christ to become more than a label, more than a circumstance and more than one person can imagine. He is the father of two wonderful children and married two more children when He and his wife, Cassie, were married in the spring of 2003.

This ministry is all about growth and learning to overcome through success, love and perseverance.

"It is such and honor and a blessing to serve Jesus by ministering the love of God to the beautiful children that God sends to our ministry. I can't think of any higher calling than this."
- Sean Stevens, Executive Director

Karen Cobel of Life Pregnancy Help Center states:
“I believe Mary’s Comfort is a very needed ministry that will tie in well to existing or other developing ministries. I can see this taking root,” Cobel said. “It has a lot of common goals. ... We can potentially have overlapping instead of duplicating ministries that will accomplish more for our communities.”

Pastor Darren Burton of Orange County House of Prayer said:
“No longer can we turn a blind eye to what’s going on. Many times as pastors we give sermons penned on paper of great intellect about our duties as Christians, but until you involve yourself in something like this, it’s hard to grasp true ministry in action. I’d love to see churches step up and support this effort.”

Brad Pickens, Ph.D of the Farmhouse Ministry Inc. said:

“Obviously, there is a great need for this type of service. So many are falling through the cracks of society, I intend to support this ministry and would like to see it work in our community.”

Shelly Dodds from Oolitic, Indiana says:
"When I needed someone to show me that I wasn't alone in this world God sent Sean and Mary's Comfort Ministries. I cried so hard because it was an answer to my prayers".

FBI Director Robert Mueller:
"We together have no higher calling than to protect our children and to safeguard their innocence"

Statement of Faith

  • The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and infallible Word of God.

  • There is one God, existing eternally in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus is the Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit and virgin born, the Son of God, the one and only Savior, the Lord of all.

  • Christ sacrificially died on the cross and shed His blood as the atonement for sin.

  • God raised Him from the dead bodily; He ascended into Heaven, and He will visibly return in glory according to His promise.

  • Salvation is God’s gift of eternal life, presented to all who, by faith, accept Jesus Christ as Savior and receive spiritual new birth by the Holy Spirit.

  • Abundant Christian living is possible only for those who continually yield their lives to the power and control of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus issued Christians a “Great Commission”: to spread the Good News of His salvation to all peoples and every nation. To fulfill this commission, Christians must not only proclaim the love of God, but demonstrate it through deeds of compassion, such as feeding the poor and hungry, providing for orphans, widows and the homeless and assisting the sick and distressed as God directs.
